I Love Sailing
She blew in from the West,
racing dark clouds,
churning tempestuous path.
We smash from peak to trough,
wind's wanton roar,
back to peak again,
sickening thump.
splash and crash once more,
loud clap as we bottom out,
then rise again,
crash again,
even cutlery rattles,
a slight splintering sounds,
blacks mix with sheeting rain,
the tiny triangle sails scream taught,
straining rigging squeals,
slabs of brine beat the deck,
up one more peak,
look down at the watery valleys,
crazing the horizon,
we shout to be heard,
then smash again,
a moments stall,
then leap forward,
brief glide over
and crazy change to surfing down
the scene insane.
Another day in paradise.
