Nine years ago he was in a care accident (drunk driver, hit&run) that resulted in a quite sever brain injury. He has issues with vision, mobility, communicating, etc and needs a lot of supervision, prompting and assistance. If it wasn't for me he'd not be able to live outside a care facility/ group home.

I (we) do have support. There are good friends that are willing to help out. There is also respite care through home care. I take advantage of both if I need to.

[c=#800000]BellaIsa[/c] … i will pray for both you and the husband … and, remember, if the tides were reversed … your husband would be the one taking care of you.
IsaTheBella · F
@muffinman I know he would.

@IsaTheBella That is of little comfort when you are stuck in that situation. Are you getting any relief? Are you getting any counsel? Are you getting any support?

It makes you a better person being selfless. But I understand that it can be a burden :(

What is wrong with him? Don't you have any help from friends or family or professionals? Can you arrange a break for yourself? You shouldn't have to feel this is a secret. Talk to us.

then dont
IsaTheBella · F
@coolboy86 expressing your emotions does not hold you back. Quite on the contrary, it is liberating, freeing and empowering. You know what does hold you back? You know what will break you? Bottling it all up.
coolboy86 · 36-40, M
letting out all your emotions can also land you in jail some thing are better left unsaid
IsaTheBella · F
@coolboy86 *sigh* You are arguing your point just for the point of arguing, aren't you? Let me just say, the difference is appropriateness of expressing ones feelings.

In what way? And why can't he take care of himself?
