My sis went to school for Journalism and she complained about this issue as well. All the stories she wrote were basically rewritten. Almost as if she didn't have a voice. It's a shame that it's like that. hopefully it will get better.

@sweetiepoo: Yeah same. That's how I feel. Like I have no voice. That's why I'm glad I didn't go into journalism. It would have felt like a waste of a major. It makes you wonder what the truth is. Even with books. If all of the best written lines were really written by the authors or by the editors?

Isn't journalism suppose to be where you write whatever you want for articles, newspapers, and stuff? As long as it's true of course.

@KandiGhostcat: That's what I thought but apparently it's not. My editor told me that journalism is not about unleashing my creativity but about giving the news to a publication. It makes me mad that I have no power over my own article. I'm about to interview someone soon. What if the editor doesn't like the questions I ask and just puts in the parts that she likes? I always thought that editors just check for grammar and consistency. Not that they would rewrite everything just because they are in charge of the publication.
