I Have Fun With Adobe Illustrator

I wish there were more hours in the day so I could hate Illustrator more.

I've just spent two hours unsuccessfully trying to do something that would have taken me five minutes to do in FreeHand — 20 years ago.

Rant complete.

[c=#800000]corel[/c] … [c=#800000]freehand[/c] … [c=#800000]inkscape[/c] … [c=#800000]illy[/c] … they  each  have  bit  of  a  learning  curve.  outta'  all  those  vector-graphics  programs,  [c=#800000]illy[/c]  is  my  favorite.

sole  caveat … the  older  i  become,  the  less  i  retain  within  my  brain.  so … typically,  it's  a  dedicated  relearning  process … every  time  i  open  the  program.  then  again … i  don't  use  [c=#800000]illy[/c]  every  day.  if  i  did  use  it  every  day … probably  would  remember.

you  might  give  [c=#800000]inkscape[/c]  a  twirl … it's  always  been  freeware.

I never used that program but some of them can be so frustrating!!

What are you trying to do?

@DunningKruger From my recollection, that's very easy to do in Illustrator. But it was a few years ago I did it and I don't often use the 3D tool. I know I looked it up to refresh myself and it only took a few minutes, though.

@caccoon You must be better at than I am. I tried for hours to get it to work, and couldn't produce satisfactory results.

@DunningKruger I don't know, Illustrator can be a bitch.
