I Remember When

Grocery Bag Helpers...
I remember when you would find teens outside of Super Markets who would earn money by helping people put their bags into there cars for tips. You couldn't take your cart to your car, but if you had more than you could carry, you would get one of the teens to watch your cart as you went to get your car, and they would help you put your groceries into the car when you drove up, and you would tip them. Afterwards they would put the cart back into the store.

In some places they do it for free, you don't have to tip them since the store is paying them and they take the cart out and bring it back, during the spring time they are lined up to get out of the store...

Still happens for me (I guess I look too old to carry my own bags?). Cute kids, too, a little too old for my grandson, but not for long.
