I Live Near Newcastle

I live in Gateshead, which is just the other side of the River Tyne from Newcastle. Everyone has heard of the Toon (that's geordie for the town), but not many have heard of the Heeed (obviously that short for Gatesheed). Very annoying when you have to explain that to everyone!

But as soon as I can move away, I'm off. I hate the place! I love the north east, but my estate is rubbish!

Your estate...do you mean public housing? Owned and operated by the government?

@manly Yeah, I think years ago the whole estate would have been council housing, but some people have since bought their houses. I think they were run by the local council, which is like the local government, but it's now a private company that has taken over.
