No I don’t believe that really works, I mean in some contexts. But you generally have to take what you want.

I’m not sure how to make friends so I can’t help you there. I don’t try to make friends either we get along or we don’t. But I certainly wouldn’t try to earn a friendship, that’s pathetic.
