I Have Something I Need to Say

@Fungirlmmm It always looks the same. Tornado destruction. There was an F5 near Austin abut 15 ?years ago that actually sucked the highway pavement up off the ground.

@TexChik It is scary how much damage wind can do.

@Fungirlmmm Its the stuff it picks up to throw at you. Of course a 300 mph wind in an F5 is the most destructive weather force on dry land

@TexChik I lived through a tornado as a child. It is scary stuff. I don't remember much of it but my mom used to tell us how blessed we were to live through it.

@Fungirlmmm They are a fact of life in Texas. Its rare to be at the farm in the spring and not see one. Our home here and the farm house were engineered to be more tornado resistant...and they both have basement/storm shelters.

@TexChik And Oklahoma. I lived in Oklahoma then.

@TexChik Fort Sill and Lawton as a kid. Oklahoma City and Tulsa as an adult. I have also lived in Richardson, Austin, Harker Heights, and San Antonio TX too.

@TexChik :) I was a military family and my job has also caused me to move. Sometimes the stay would be short but I have been all over the world.

@Fungirlmmm Daddy had done some work at Fort Sill...I don't recall what it was , especially since he was a Marine. I think they made use of the firing range to dial in artillery before going to viet nam

@TexChik My father was stationed there for awhile. My mom has always wanted to move back to Lawton.

@Fungirlmmm My hubby's oil co has property all over that area. Its not all that far from the farm
