Did you know?

Why ice cubes cool your beverage down is not the fact that they're cold but that they're solid. Because turning matter back from solid to liquid requires a lot of energy, much more so than the temperature difference between the ice and liquid you're trying to cool down.

So when you see people marketing whiskey stones or metal beverage chillers, they're scamming you (or simply haven't tried the product themselves to see that it won't work). You need the phase change to create a noticible difference in temperature.

Kind of random but I just saw something stupid online and I had to get it out there...
