I was trying to transition from being a child to a young woman and it was conflicting internally let alone in a society that shames females for their sexuality ,and my father was still quite patriarchal ,my friends were not the greatest, not bad influences per se but more so for my self image and worth and the groups were very cliquey ,I was navigating most of it on my own. More parents need to be considerate and open of the physiological changes that take place,so that they can create a safe space in which they can support and understand their children through that transition ,instead of antagonizing them or shaming them and what not. I think we all learned and I feel for most teenagers because they are often dismissed but they go through a major transition
