It's true. People cannot control the consequences of actions or inactions. They do however have tye ability to control the choices they make that incur such recriminations and judgements that life might give for those aforementioned decisions.
Storms and rainbows originate in the same manner.

I never argued the point that choices don’t matter. My point is that not all consequences are connected by our actions. Otherwise we wouldn’t need God and even then nothing is guaranteed.
