I Have An Inferiority Complex

I got published in a fairly popular local magazine some time back. But I couldn't help feeling it was because one of the new editors was an acquaintance of mine through a colleague, and she recognised me from my bio and rang me up when I had submitted my writing. She didn't say anything about my piece at that time but just chatted me up a bit. She is a relative of my colleague and I had once helped her with a project and I felt she was only returning the favor, particularly after I read all the other works in the magazine and found my writing to be very different from the others. Lol
Since then, I have decided to do a bit of background research and never to submit my writing anywhere that involves people I know, for the sake of my own sanity. 😂
