I Have a Natural Remedy to Share

This story is about the Aloe Vera plant. I posted a similar story on EP yrs ago but I'm going to write another one because I have recently used the gel from the leaves of this plant to sort out a small growth on my face.

Firstly, about 15 yrs ago I had a wart on a knuckle on my hand. I mentioned this to a Zulu friend of mine one day who pointed to an Aloe Vera plant in my garden. He said I should apply the gel from the leaves once a day and see what happens. I did this once a day and after two months the wart was gone. It dried up, died and fell off in small little dry crumbles. The skin was left perfect with no scar or mark. Coincidence ? Maybe...but read further.

Secondly, about 10 yrs ago a small mole developed on the left side of my face right in front of my left ear. At first I hardly even noticed it but suddenly it started to itch a lot and started growing quite fast. As we all know a growing and itching mole, especially on the face, is not a good thing.

I then remembered the Aloe Vera plant. I applied the gel from the leaves and immediately the itching stopped. After about 2 months of applying it once a day, sometimes I forget, the mole suffered the same fate as the wart. It dried up, died and fell off in small dry crumbles. The skin was left perfect with no scar or mark. Coincidence again ? Maybe not. Read further.

Thirdly, a few months ago a small brown spot appeared on my left cheek. I hardly noticed it and didn't really care because I'm 49 now so a small spot on my face is neither here nor there. Or so I thought.

A few weeks ago this spot started to itch and grow which again reminded me of Aloe Vera. So about 2 weeks ago I started applying the gel from the leaves to that spot. The itching stopped, it dried up and is now about half the size that it was. Clearly it is suffering the same fate as the wart and the mole. Those little dry crumbles usually come off while I'm sleeping because of the rubbing of my face against the pillow. Coincidence again ? I think not, not after the third time.

I have tried it on a mole that I was born with but it had no effect. So it seems to work like a charm on skin problems that are busy developing.

My Zulu friend also used it for throat infections. He boiled part of a leaf in water, strained it, let it cool down and gargled before spitting it out.

I know people who use it for Eczema and it also works on sunburned skin among other uses.

So before you rush off to the doctor in order to have a developing mole or wart removed you might want to try applying the gel from the leaf of an Aloe Vera plant first and just take note of what happens.

Lastly, I would just like to thank mother Earth for providing us with so many useful plants. And thank you to anyone else who bothered to read this all the way through.

I'm writing this update as an answer so hopefully a few people will receive a notification and read it.

Months ago I noticed another small skin growth forming on the side my right eyelid. I ignored it like I'm prone to doing. After a few months I started to see it in my field of vision so I decide,"Oh very well then ! I'll do something".

So I started applying Aloe Vera gel to it once a day and sometimes I forgot.

Today, which is about 2 months later, I woke up and it is gone. The whole thing came off during the night. There is not even a mark on the skin.

So this is now at least the 4th time that this plant fixed my skin and saved me a whole lot of money. Isn't that grand ?
🙂
@Wraithorn It is indeed.

@PuppetOnStrings Thanks for reading. I appreciate it.
This is exciting. Until very recently I always had an aloe vera on a kitchen windowsill for burns and sunburn. Sharing it with my daughter who is prone to throat ailments.

I will not be surprised when we learn - or remember - a great many homeopathic remedies used for milennia by 'primitive' cultures who lived with the Earth instead of subjugating her.

It's kind of funny how we are about such things. A decade or so ago I was cursed with toenail fungus. I talked to a doctor who gave me a prescription for a cure. My insurance company considered this 'cosmetic' and 'optional' and refused payment. I never filled the prescription because it was nearly $470 per month and it was estimated that six months to a year treatment would be required.

I happened on a suggestion on line to try Vicks-Vape-O-Rub. Well, THAT cost $5 for a BIG jar. As directed I smeared it on my toenails and wore socks to bed. Okay, the strong scent of Eucalyptus and athletic socks may not be alluring in a bed partner, but about four months later my nails were smooth and clear.

I do still wonder who got the idea of Vicks salve on toenails. Since I now live alone, I use it on the odd sore muscle. Can't say whether it's some helpful ingredient or memories of Mom rubbing Vicks on my throat or chest when I was sick as a child or both ... but it works.
@Wraithorn Great. Freelance.

@Mamapolo2016 Exactly ! So I answer to no-one except myself and my subconscious mind which I should probably stop having long conversations with. ☺
@Wraithorn Interesting. I'm in the same line of work.

Thank you for suggesting this remedy. I have used home remedies for things like raw garlic on a skin cancer on my chest. It made it go away after two weeks. It burns but left no scar. So my question is, can you buy Aloe Vera in a bottle or must it be from a plant only?
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@SW-User Wraithorn is right.
Bottled gel may be useful, but the natural one is far better!

I did get a plant@CharlieZ And when I remember, I break off some of it and use it. 👍️

"Zulu friend" :) we have Zulu friends too, there is such a wealth of great medicinal knowledge in that culture. Shrouded by a mist of false truths but you can find more at UKZN. Few books have been written by even fewer illustrated - they fear exploitation and believe those plants are not for use by anyone, but by people who have been taught properly the ways of old. Quite a cool thing. Thanks for sharing.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@DreamCoCreators Pheeeww...! *wipes sweat off brow* I'm very glad to hear that. ☺
DreamCoCreators · 36-40, M
Oh! How could I forget the time I actually licked a leaf someone broke... in the back of our Landy on the way to St Lucia for pizza lol couldn't taste the pizza 😂 NOT recommended! Bitterest thing ever by 1,000 fold. Hilarious for everyone else tho :)
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@DreamCoCreators Lol. I think we all lick that leaf at some stage because it looks luscious and juicy when you break it open. You only do it once though. ☺
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Something I learned this past year. Most of the aloe Vera products that are sold are fake, they are a gelatinized goop that contain little or no aloe vera. No wonder they didn’t help with the psoriasis.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@cherokeepatti Ah...well your winters must be colder than mine. My plant lives outside in a pot year round. Sometimes it goes a bit yellow in winter when I forget to water it for about a month but it always survives.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Wraithorn There have been a few really mild winters where we had 3-5 weeks of winter weather and then an early spring. But just one cold snap can freeze the plant, and I usually forget to bring it inside. Wish I had one sunny room to keep plants in the winter.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@cherokeepatti They do like direct warm sunlight. That is true.
Starbursteffect · 51-55, F
I'm getting me an Aloe plant today!
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Starbursteffect Great ! And google it's uses and ways of applying it online. You'll be amazed at how useful it is, especially for your skin.
Peaches · F
@Starbursteffect You'll be glad you did! 😊🌱

I use Aloe since yooung through today.
It´s a so good resource to have.
I have Aloe plants in my garden, along with other medicinal herbs.
At my country and extended by the continent whe have a "cousin" of Aloe, called Pita.
It shares most if not all the benefits of Aloe.

Thanks for sharing.
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@Wraithorn Yes! And think in another function where to improve irrigation is a bless for men!

And there is another remedy from tres: an infussion of Advocado (Palta, Aguacate) dryed leaves softly dissolves kidney stones when are uric acid composed ones.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@CharlieZ Good to know, thanks. Do you know of anything that will stop hair growing out of my ears and out the top of my head instead ? 🙂
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@Wraithorn Sorry I can´t help myself about the very same!
I am bald with hair elsewhere.
Foxyfoxfox · 51-55, F
I've heard of the healing properties of Aloe but this story makes me want to get my own for sure. Thank you for sharing.

ALL TRUE! You're preachin' to the choir! The plant is incredibly healing
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Fernie There you go ! You preach it sister !
It's one of mother Earth's blessings to us. 😸
Fernie · F
@Wraithorn I have lost count of how many Aloes I have gifted to people because they had NO clue about the plant....gotta spread the word!!...and the GEL!
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Fernie Indeed ! Nothing wrong with real, practical healing preaching with real evidence and results toboot. All hail Aloe Vera and mother Earth ! Respect ! 🙂
My father boils aloe in water then drinks it to regulate blood sugar levels.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@PuppetOnStrings Thank you very much for bringing another use for Aloe to our attention. How does your father overcome the extremely bitter taste when drinking it ?
@Wraithorn He is able to handle the taste, he usually drinks a glass of water afterwards.. Me on the other hand, I had it once or twice, I think I had something sweet to rid my mouth of the taste 😀..
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@PuppetOnStrings Fair enough, thanks.
Peaches · F
I have Aloe Vera plants too. 🌱 I had some skin tags removed from my face and used some, it healed so much faster than if I hadn't used it. They are wonderful to have around. I've used it for burns too, it works great. Thanks for reminding me to use it again. By the way, I hear not all of Ale Vera plants can be used medically. You want to make sure you get the right ones. ⭐ Great post! 💓
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Peaches Thanks for reading, commenting and confirming Peach. I appreciate it.
Works great on fever blisters too.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Swann I'm not surprised. It seems to work well for just about any skin problem. Thanks for reading and commenting.
revenant · F
Thank you for the tip. I hope you have a lot more.:)
revenant · F
@Wraithorn you know lots.
Are you interacting with the Bushmen ? Do they go to town for provisions ?
I had heard about the clicks. (!).
A mantis.. do they have a serpent somewhere ? like everybody else around the world ?
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@revenant As far as I know I have never met a bushman in person. I like to read so I read about them.
The 1st time they were brought to my notice was when I was about 10 or 11. My family used to go on holiday were we camped in a mud hut in the Drakensberg mountains. We walked the mountains a lot and explored caves etc. There I saw Bushmen rock paintings for the first time. That area is actually a world heritage site because of the history involved in those paintings.

I still go there occasionally to walk through the mountains and drink water from the streams which are pure and crystal clear. I have feelings for that place that I can't explain. Mother nature speaks in the wind there.

Anyway...according to Bushman tradition their God becomes a snake whenever it pleases. It's just another form of the same being.
I imagine that the Christian missionaries of old had a bit of a problem with that belief. 🙂

I have found Aloe Vera products from an American company called Forever to be excellent if on the pricey side 🙂
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
@Wraithorn Their Aloe Vera Gel is great for burns and cuts but they do a wide range of Aloe products including moisturiser, sun screen, tooth gel and even make up - and no I don't work for them but do use their stuff 🙂
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Dlrannie Tooth gel ? That's interesting. Mmmm 🤔
@Dlrannie I work 4 mother nature...using the natural plant is the only way. my boss knows!
passingby8 · 31-35, F

My mother swears by Aloe Vera. It works:)
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Caprice It is a really useful plant and our skin Loooves Aloe Vera.
Yes ! My grandmother used to break a leaf and rub the gel on when my shoulders would burn from playing in the Louisiana sun as a child. Always soothed it instantly.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@bijouxbroussard Aha ! Another honest testimony. A few more and we can start an Aloe Vera following. ☺
Thanks for reading and answering Bijoux. I think a bit later I might post a question to bring more people's attention to this because it's useful information.
