I Am a Survivor of Domestic Violence

Yes. Please, can someone explain how hurting someone weaker and smaller makes a person strong? Not just men over women, but any stronger person against any weaker being; people, animals, birds. Women have also been known to harm smaller, weaker people than themselves.

Violence against anyone is despicable.

I still remember my step father with his knee in my back holding me down so he could punch me in the head. I was always very small especially as a child.

I actually attacked my friend's father when he did the same to his daughter, right in front of me. He didn't dare hit me. He knew my dad. And, although he continued to beat her when I wasn't around, she still came to school with black eyes and bruises on her body, he never assaulted her when she had any friends over.

@Serenitree: Thank you for making her feel valuable.

@curiosi: she was. We were very close from 11 years old. She was my maid of honour at my wedding. We remained close, until she move all the way across the continent to BC. And I stayed in the East, in Quebec. At that time we lost track of each other. But I still remember how much fun we had together.
