I Am a Survivor of Domestic Violence
THE GAME
The blank faces stare
And they close their minds to me
You twist and you lie
So convincingly fearfully
There are no rules to this game
The dice is loaded against me.
You smile and convince,
While I scream unheard
They all turn away,
You hold out your hand to me.
There are no choices left
You wrap your chains so tightly.
You pull at the chain and it chokes me,
There's no life or breath left in me.
As I fall down at your feet
The shadows surround me.
You laugh triumphantly.
The game is over.
(Written by me five years ago, thankfully I am out of that situation now).
