Help for a San Francisco author.
Hello, thanks for coming to view this. Gloria Mann is a darling older woman from San Francisco. She contacted me in 2017 to publish a short book of poetry, some on controversial topics. We moved along slowly on the project as she doesn't have computer access to speak of. So we made do, she'd US mail me written-out pieces to edit and word process, and call from time to time to check on their arrival and progress of the book. Everytime she'd call she'd start with "Hello, this is Gloria Mann calling from San Francisco, California." verbatim. So when we wound up stuck for a title... that had to be it. Although I am a hybrid publisher working mostly with authors in my local area across the country I support all artists needing a voice, so I will tackle projects from outside Hampton Roads and I heavily discount services and supplies to my authors.
So, I found out that Gloria's words touch people enough that she has sold through her stocks and needs resupply. However, the nursing home she lives in is in lockdown severely because of COVID, and she cannot get out to promote with author signings or readings. She also cannot go out for groceries and additional supplies so the facility has someone get those things for her, but there's an additional cost that has soaked up the rest of her budget. Frankly. it sounds like they're sponging her the way nursing homes might, but I can't comment on their operations for sure. If she could resupply on books, I reason, she could sell those for a bit of profit and come away with more than she started to help her situation, but they've absorbed her profit enough that she can't resupply. Please help this worthy poet restock her book so that she can sell locally in San Francisco? At $250 this is a very reachable goal, and would boost her own budget immensely -- Not only would it help her resupply, but then she'd meet her grocery bills and other needs more handily.
