I Have Toxic Family Members

I'm starting to believe my mom is one of these toxic people, she will complain about everything from her health, body, people, etc. and when I try to bring reason into the discussion, she refuses to listen and continues on with her rants. It has caused me much stress over the years. It's disheartening that no matter how hard you try there are some people you just can't help/ reason with. That's just the way they are.

I’m going to play devil’s advocate here and say your mom is not toxic without ever meeting her. I understand you may need an outlet to vent and this site is near perfect for that. I want to inspire you to see the positives. Your mom is just dealing with her own pain and struggles and all you can do is be there for her listening with open heart and ears. If you give her positivism she may see the light and feel the healing!
