I Go to a Boarding School
Tonight I will describe my room and the boarding house in which I live.
I share a dormitory with four other girls. The room is designed for four people, but at the moment we are sharing with a fifth girl who was being bullied in her own room, so there is less space for us all 👧👧👧👧👧. I have a bed with my own pillows and duvet, a wardrobe for hanging up my school uniform, and three drawers for putting my other clothes in. There is a shelf above my bed where I keep some books, my laptop, and my teddy bear 🐻. At the foot of my bed is my trunk, which I use as additional storage space and sometimes for sitting on.
I have approximately 4m2 of space to myself. Beyond that there is no privacy. We do everything together, which is a blessing and a curse by turns.
There are five dorms in our house. We share a large study area for doing our homework in, a lounge for watching TV and relaxing, and a bathroom. Also living in our house are two six formers who boss us around a lot, and our house mother who is the teacher responsible for looking after us.
The accommodation is quite modern and comfortable, apart from the bathroom which is old, cold, and not the sort of place you want to hang around in for long.
Meals are taken in the school refectory with all the other boarding girls. Mealtimes are generally very noisy and chaotic 😔
Please feel free to ask me any questions 🙂
