I Just Need To Rant, Scream, And Curse Once In A While

I've noticed over and over the last few weeks something I can't ignore anymore.

The people that love to call themselves humanist or humanitarian, claim to be progressive and free thinking...

They're some of the most inhumane and oppressive people around. Using a cloak of open mindedness to rip in to and try to drag down others that might not agree or align to their views, even when a person has nothing to do with them.

Like tigers in the grass waiting to attack at the first sign of weakness. Social and sweet when the attention is on them, raging animals when a person is at their most vulnerable.

I'm too naive, I know. I just don't want to give up all of my hopefulness and become as jaded as they are.

People who speak through their actions, not their words, are the best to look for. If they have to "claim" over and over about something, chances are they aren't really what they are claiming.
@Virescent Good point that

Regardless of viewpoint, I think insecurity in what you believe causes people to be intolerant of different viewpoints. My faith is solid so why should it bother me when people believe differently.
@trackman11 Exactly. I don't have to agree. It could be something obvious like I say the sky is blue and they think it's green, it's not worth fighting over. But let them say what they want.

@EllaDisenchanted blue? green? I always think it's mauve. lol. just kidding. I believe you are right. It's not worth arguing and trying to mock or ridicule someone who sees it different. Those who proclaim tolerance and are then intolerant are acting hypocritically, but in fairness, hypocrisy is a trait we all share to one degree or another.
