It would be glad if folks could be given enough spiritual knowledge about consequences of such decisions and then were left to choose.

I agree,it should be their decisions entirely, after having had all their questions answered adequately and impartially. No other views should be foisted onto them by established organisations like the church.

On the surface, I don't see anything so difficult about that.

Nelladell; I think the issue would be where to get the spiritual knowledge from. Do not know what the actual count is, but there are way over 500 different religions all claiming that the Bible is their spiritual guide.
In this country they can not kill them, but they can put them on such strong pain relievers that they will not be coherent for their last days.
When I no longer can control my bodily functions it is time for me to go.

You are right, Climber. There aren't many who have that information direct from Source. But the real problem is that other folks who are unable to know directly can't, of course, see how anyone else can, so rely on interpretations of scripture. But it would be really great to be sure of the spiritual consequences of some important decisions then to be free to make those decisions.

Nelladell; I agree totally. I think that very few people who say they believe; really believe though.
If people really believed in the spiritual consequences such as what the bible depeicts, I think they would live totally different lives. I would.

lol. Yep.

We cannot really go by what is said in the Bible as it was written by mere mortals who were establishing their own rules at the time, and that was over 2000 years ago and yes what is valid can stand the test of time, but a lot of ideas that no longer apply can still be held on.The important thing to me is to follow our conscience and what feels right in one's heart according to what life has been teaching us and not what others have written.

I'm sorry I wasn't clearer. When I said 'spiritual knowledge' I did not mean from any book. I was referring to knowledge from Infinite Intelligence; knowledge which leaves no doubt. True knowledge. Knowing.

Yes I see what you mean now, I guess that knowledge would come to us via meditation and mental repose and leave us in no doubt as to the trueness of the inspiration received.I hope I am clear enough, it is hard to put into wordsWe really have to follow our conscience.
