I Have Been In Dangerous Situations Before

Danger?? Yes. I suppose so. I've been right there. It's danger in slow motion. So weird. I used to live in Montreal, and I worked in the small grey older building at the top of that hill. This isn't unusual when there's a small amount of snow over a sheet of ice on a steep hill.

I was in Montreal a few years back but it was summer time. We don't get much snow in my part of the world though we do get the occasional wintery storm. It's been a few years since we any amount of snow lying and it usually thaws out quite quickly.

What I see here is likely the result of freezing rain in the night, and a light snow covering the ice on the road. On a steep hill, that is pretty much an uncontrollable slide. The dumbest move I saw here was the driver on the cross street, daring to go ahead in front of all that slip sliding traffic.

I lived and worked in Scotland for many years. The snow there is terrible! My mother lives a few miles from Balmoral Castle up in the highlands and is guaranteed a foot of snow at christmas.

@afreshstart77: where I am now, which isn't Toronto, by the way, we get relatively little snow, compared to cities and towns all around us. I don't understand the science of how we get so little snow, but it's the only thing I miss.

@crossproduct: ohohohoooo. You get a bit more snow than Montreal does. A big bit more.

I'm in the south, so it's not so bad but oh man do we get some big storms.

@crossproduct: I had a friend who moved to Glace Bay. She sent pictures. Unbelievable. 😂😂😂

That big glass and concrete building on the left hand side of the street is the Montreal Stock Exchange. I used to work across the street. At the top of the hill.
