@SW-User i lost my job, and in august lost my home. i lived in a shelter, here in omaha, till december when i found my current home. at the shelter i taught GED skills, was given the nick name "teach". we slept in a large dorm like room, 100 to 150 men. it was a "dry" shelter so no drugs, no alcohol. we had meals together, we took turns showering. i learned what is important (people) and what is not (things)

@mrmoose that had to be rough four months would have be bad but im glad you found a place and thats good that it was a dry shelter mine is too but on the floor below me its not my boyfriend is in that once and says its nuts cause everyone is on drugs and fight with each other so me and him are always nice and havent had any issues with anyone they have always been super sweet to us just guess its like if you fuck with them they will fuck with you if not they are so nice and its the same deal with how the people down there sleep in a big dorm

@LunaDem there was a very big black man there, walking around and talking with himself, everyone was afraid of him. one day i walked up to him and just started chatting, he turned out to be very nice, we talked everyday till i left.

@mrmoose aww thats so sweet im never really scared of the ones talking to them self i just know they are on drugs and out of it like i know if im nice no one will hurt me or be rude and so far ive been good with everyone here even smoked a joint with some people it was really nice

@LunaDem @LunaDem he was a kind gentle man, my only problem with the shelter is that they have no mental health services, they had regular docs and nurses, but no mental health workers

we dont even have that here but like i said im in the most shitty part of town so that might be bad the only issue i had is i had some clothes stolen but whatever doesnt bother me i know im leaving soon and can get more these people who have been in here a while dont know when they are leaving or when they will have new nice clothes
was just sad cause my stuffie got taken

@LunaDem a funny but true story, one day i was getting stuff out of my locker (we all had locking lockers) i saw a wallet on the floor under it. i picked it up and turned it in, was told later it had $200 cash in it, the guy that lost it was so surprised

thats so good and ya someone found a phone someone left in the computer room and right away turned it in the person was so happy
