I Am An Atheist
I am but I try not to be a jerk about it. But I gotta be honest one of the hardest things I'd have with Christianity (which I admit I don't know a whole lot about other than what I've learned through osmosis) would be the idea the humans are special. And all of this was created just for us. And yet oddly enough I get called arrogant and that I worship man for some reason even though I very specifically don't like to think we're all that special. We're the only ones with souls? Do aliens have souls? Was the universe created for them too? It seems like it's just us and we're the "chosen ones" and I just can't get down with that. Not because I think humans are crappy. I think we're pretty rad actually a lot of the time. I love people. I just don't think we're unique or special.
All that being said I gotta admit if some aliens ever show up talking about Gorgnak the Son of God who died on a cross for their sins I'd probably rethink the whole atheism thing. Just saying...that'd be some evidence for Christianity. Well the same would be true for any religion really. Gorgnak could have gone to a cave and become of the last prophet of the one true God as well. Or something about enlightenment I dunno. I know less and less about religions the farther away from Abraham they get.
If the exact same doctrine showed up on two different planets that'd be pretty freaking significant, you know?
