When you say clueless do you mean unintelligent? Or uninformed?

@Littlewing77 you are right, did not specify it... I think I should call them "full of bullshit". So not necessarily unintelligent, but very often it is connected. But usually, it is also accompanied by an air of arrogance.
Littlewing77 · 51-55, F
@sumojumo so, do you really mean Know-it-alls who believe their opinions are facts everyone should also espouse?
sumojumo · 36-40, M
@Littlewing77 yes, but there is also another type of person. The people that are keeping their appearance of knowledge, not openly bragging and talking over people, just a subtle air of arrogance and those are worse since it takes a lot of effort to realize they are also completely ignorant about something. For some people, it took me years to realize their whole charade was completely fake. And that is such a huge dissapointment.

@sumojumo just to play devil’s advocate: You may be giving people power over you. You seem to have very high expectations of others and assume they are self aware, as you seem to be. Not everyone is self aware. That subtle air might be their only grasp at any self esteem. I may be totally wrong but these are ideas.
I let people have what they have because it really might be all they have. I also allow for people to lie to themselves and maybe to me if they aren’t significant in my life and I’m not giving them anything personal. I just let people be if I intuit they are untrustworthy. If they honestly ask, I’ll tell them though. In as gentle a way as possible.
Thanks for letting me think this through. It was a fun exercise!

@Littlewing77 omg, thank you for such a nicely formulated analysis. I ask these questions usually not expecting much (maybe a joke, some clever little word or two), but sometimes I receive such nice gems. Through such answers, I can feel the humanity in this online space. Not just a set of trolls and sarcastic people throwing insults at each other.

You touched on many issues here, but I definitely agree that we should be more gentle towards people. I have to admit that I had a huge lack of self-awareness, only in recent years I began to gain more insight into myself. And one of the results of this was me being far more gentle towards everybody. And it is true that I had very very high expectations towards people, mostly because I was not aware of my own mistakes and flaws.

Thank you for reminding me I still have plenty of things to learn.

@sumojumo ❤️ As a fellow seeker, I am proud of you for gaining in insight! It’s not for the faint of heart! We all have so much more to learn and we can be kind and loving along the way, if we choose. It doesn’t make us better or worse than anyone else.

@Littlewing77 it was a pleasure talking to you, I love gaining insights about myself. I think I used to be scared of breaking my fragile ego, but now I am enjoying these AHA moments more and more.

When I have the energy, I thoroughly enjoy these types of convos so hit me up any time! I might need to learn from you too! @sumojumo

@Littlewing77 I am not such a frequent user of this site, but I definitely hope our paths cross again. And I definitely have much more questions than answers :). Wishing you a pleasant day, it is getting quite late in my part of the world, probably time to give my brain a little rest :D.
