I don't know.
Sometimes people pretend to be clueless...so you say more.

@SW-User do they have good reasons to pretend?
SW-User
@sumojumo Of course. They're watching what you say, your level of understanding.

And then the others, well if you know enough about something, you will figure out in your gut they're clueless about it.

@SW-User so it is a psychological trick. I am not sure what I hate more - clueless people pretending to be knowledgable or vice-versa. I think intelligent people have even more responsibility not to fool people... but I am very naive :)

@sumojumo There are different kinds of intelligent people. You're most likely not naive, you may just be honourable.

@SW-User that is what I am trying to think about myself, but the imposter syndrome is very strong :). And I have been shown to be naive about so many things, and it is getting worse as I am getting older.

@sumojumo There is so much in the world that you can't know everything. What you do not know is not a measure of your intelligence. A kind of intelligence for me is how a person is thrown something new and they respond (whether learning it or however they attain knowledge about it )and wisdom is knowing that we will constantly be learning new things. And to me that is wonderful.

@SW-User Oh, I definitely agree on that one. I met loads of incredibly intelligent people in my life, and the more they are intelligent, the sooner they will tell you they have absolutely no clue about a topic. And that is indeed wonderful and so easy to connect with such people.
SW-User
@sumojumo Yeah, humility is a good sign. :)
