I Love Analyzing Myself

Babies don’t just cry if they’re hungry, sleepy, or want to be changed. From birth we seek attention, that’s why when babies are held they stop crying, and you put them down and they start crying all over again. From birth we notice that there are certain actions we can take, to cause a desired reaction in another.

Babies crying is a metaphor to who we are as adults as well. Except that instead of crying we yell, get angry, drink, etc. when we don’t get the attention we wanted from another or what we wanted. A child is in a world they suddenly have to get used to and adapt and it causes stress in doing so, stress that may take different forms but continues on in our lives as adults.

We are still trying to adapt to a reality we didn’t choose in the first place, we are trying to survive and secure our livelihood through the acquisition of money. We are still being evaluated on our performance as to say whether we are approved or found lacking.

“Why is this child crying? What is wrong with them, they have everything!!!”

A world where you didn’t get to choose your body, mind, instincts, the world, what it contains with its people and ways, options you have to choose from but didn’t pick in the first place... it’s all deeper than what commercials trying to sell make it out to be.

This is why how you treat people, how you look at them, how you smile... can be soothing to people that are stressed out from an existence they are still trying to adapt to and survive in- through seeking entertainment to distract them from the mystery of all we actually don’t know or are afraid of.
