I Believe In Equality

What really is equality? Does it empower? Does it break taboos? Does it enable self expression fully? Man and woman? Every man and woman? What about the wealthy and the poor, how does equality work? What really is equality?

Equality to me looks like both men and women possessing power responsibly.

Help me out with your response.
You do you mean by sexual abuse?
Are those the current political initiatives in England or do you mean something else. I love your vocabulary but it isn’t productive if it doesn’t promote understanding among everyone here!

@BruzzoneH I respond to Posts to establish understandings and you responded with allusions to some deep ideas. I do hope you are feeling better now.

Equality results from selflessness. A system of equity that produces fair turnout and results in no oppression of the poor and vulnerable is the goal. Unfortunately, due to the dynamics of life today, it may seem to be impossible as we are constantly trained subliminally to care about oneself, to compete, and ignore the needs of others and to submit to how systems of oppression work today

I was married for around 20 years and i felt we had an equal relationship. This didn't mean that we were the same in every way, to me it meant that we shared the same vision for the relationship, discussed and planned together, looked at each others strengths and weaknesses and each tried to fill the gaps in the other and ultimately tried to make the relationship a single entity rather than two individuals jousting for position and control. Yes it empowers and i don't know about breaking taboos but it broke the social expectation from others, finally yes, it did enable self expression with no fear of trying to conform to a stereotype.

@BruzzoneH Thanks, yes i feel like i've literally lost half of me.
Equality is the state of being equal. It is correspondence in quantity, degree, value, rank, or ability.

Equal means: the same as.

In my experience, equality doesn't enable self expression but it rather makes everyone dull. In the context of the wealthy and the poor, one can say they are equal in that they are human beings; other than that, they're different in every way.

Equality levels the playing field, which gives people the opportunity to empower themselves in certain areas. For example, creative, digital content creators each get a fair chance at producing something great and becoming great.

Other advantages are rational discussion. Rather than making the woman not talk, a man and a woman can freely have rational discourse, if they wish so and if they are so inclined.

It would be nice if we lived in a meritocracy, but today's bureaucracy and corruption surely show we don't.

Equality is a fantasy those who seek control use to enslave. We are not all equal. We are individuals, with our own strengths, weaknesses, hopes, dreams, fears, failures, and successes. No two people will ever be completely equal.

Equality means to have the same benefits but also to have consequences or disadvantages just as severe. A lot of people don't get that, think that equality works only on the good side.

Equally is an outcome, one which should be organic. Simply put.
