I Am Learning To Cook

My mother is a great cook but she never taught me and my sisters how to, she wants us to be educated and never have to be in the kitchen but i realized that it is a necessary skill, i learned cooking on my own by reading cookbooks and watching cooking shows and i think i am good too but she would shame my cooking or ask me not to use her kitchen. I am asian and in our culture we do not necessarily leave our family homes but I do support my parents and the household. My new house will be ready in a few months and I will move out, something they disagree with, so I am learning as much as I can. I took a liking to Korean and Japanese cuisines. I just wish my mom would teach me her recipes because her filipino dishes are delicious.

If you appreciate food, you can simply follow times for cooking times (if you are dealing with meat) and especially if you appreciate food you will find on your own
what tastes good to you and how to create it.

That's pretty awesome. My mum cooks really great food but she likes to teach me how to do all that even though I'm pretty awful at it. She doesn't shame your cooking all the time, does she?

lol same my mum never allowed me in the kitchen as a kid bc my thigh got burned once and as an adult she gives me a lot of flak for not being quick...like I literally skipped a decades worth of skills

I think parents are obligated to pass skills to their kids no matter what they are

@SW-User Obligated no - should they, yes? You learn at a young age if your father is a foster in a weird way there is no obligation outside of being there for them

@SW-User there should be laws regarding reproduction lol
