I love the word "attitude" and the way different definitions of the word merge. "Attitude" also references an airplane's angles of position relative to the horizon. Nose up, nose down. Banked left or right. There's even an "attitude indicator" instrument in the cockpit, so even in the soup the pilot knows the airplane's attitude. Modern attitude indicators are very precise.
Even in the cloud, by referencing the attitude indicator the pilot can straighten up and fly right.
