I Love the White Mountains In New Hampshire

I simply love New England. My first vacation in America was to the White Mountains in mid winter and I fell in love with it. I loved it so much, I've had about 8 or 9 more vacations in the same area since that first time. People keep telling me I should really broaden my horizons and see more of America, so I've taken vacations in Main, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut, but I've always split my time with one week exploring somewhere new, and the second week, going "home" to the White Mountains. There is something just so magical about it.

Yes , very quirky roads.

Is it right all the roads are marked back to front, so East is West, West is East, North is South and South is really North. I remember when we were trying to find the hotel (before SatNav) we got lost. We stopped at the next town and checked the map. The map showed we we needed to go East in Route 28. The next sign showed we were going west, so we turned around. Next time we looked at the map we were further away!
When we eventually got there (ignoring road markings) we told the story to the lady at reception and she told us all the roads are marked back to front.
We never did find out why.
