I Had Surgery

My surgery was involved by having my lower waist numb,a epidural I believe it's called and they inject a needle in your back by your spine, I long needle but you must be absolutely still, a Male nurse was holding me tight as I was sitting up on a table, the other doctor was first giving me a local shot in the area to numb the pain.all went as plan until he started with the epidural needle, as he inserted it , I said " oh shit !" The doctor stopped and asked what is it ?. I responded , " I think you just stabbed my inner child ." They both started to laugh, the nurse trying not to move me while holding and the doctor finished his injection. I bet this event was discussed in humor with the other doctors during their coffee breaks.

I had these for each of my knee replacements. Holding still didn't seem to have a problem so perhaps the initial anaesthetic also contained a muscle relaxant.

On the first occasion I could look round and just the see the ultrasound screen that was their navigational aid. I was impressed by how they can recognise all the bits on the rather grainy grey-scale image, but the needle was obvious!
