I Had Surgery

I just had a hernia surgery earlier yesterday (Saturday morning.) I had to be there before 6 am because I needed a shot of blood thinners because I had a pulmonary embolism 14 years ago and the doctor didn't want to take any risks. The shot had to be given no less than 2 hours before the surgery (which was scheduled at 8 am).
I was pretty freaked out because I had never had surgery before at any time in my life before today.
Luckily, nobody else was worried.
When I woke up, I was in a cold and asked to take deep breaths. My teeth were chattering and a couple of times I pushed my chin up because it annoyed me so.
The doctor said everything went great, that I laid there "like a champ". Lol

My doctor is really cool. He was in the military and worked in war zones, beginning as a medic when he was younger, later in metropolitan cities. He also boxed as an amateur. The main reason I chose him was because his speciality is emergency medicine.

I joked that he was the only man I knew who could beat up people AND fix them if need be.

I'm still a little nervous about how my recovery is going, but it hasn't even been 24 hours yet and I see him on Tuesday for a follow up. If all goes well, I get the stitches taken out on Friday.

If anybody has any good thoughts for me out there, thank you.

Late to respond, but I hope you've fully recovered! c: How is your health now?

I'm back to work, but missed the first couple of days. I'm "twingy" and every tiny pain worries me....but I'm fully functional. I can't exercise yet, but I can do everything else.

It's nice knowing that even though there's pain, it SHOULD get better.

Thank you for asking. :-)
