I Think The Cane Should Be Bought Back Into The School System

I cannot see that happening but if parents could enforce appropriate discipline then would there be a need? We are seeing almost daily reports of Police being called to schools.

While it might be of some benefit to a proportion of students, to far too many it would be either derisory/ineffective, or traumatic: and lead to an overall increase in brutality and violence. I think any benefit overall would be outweighed by the negative effects.

(speaking as someone who went to a school where caning was regular and frequent)

but won't that hurt a lot?

Discipline is different from punishment. Discipline involves setting guidelines, being an involved parent, and helping them make wise choices. Not physical abuse.

Agree. The school should have some effective ways to impose discipline on students, but the "modern" methods do not seem to be effective in any way. On the contrary.
