Loneliness
Dear Heart,
someone at the door again?
No, not really, maybe someone passing by,
he'll go on somewhere.
The night's almost over
the stars beginning to fade,
and candles flicker
in hallways.
Now the streets are sleepy
after watching passersby all night
their footprints covered and blurred
by alien dust.
Put out the candles,
take away the bottle, the wine and glasses
lock up the sleepless waiting doors
no one will ever come here now . . .
No one!
