I Am Confused

So one of my family members is about to have a major surgery in a month or so and he doesn’t want any of the family there. Yea I know pretty dumb. Not even his brother for support. Only his Christian church members that he knows will pray for him. The family wants to be there to support him , but he’s not having it. I’m confused on what to do? Do we go or don’t go?

If he doesn't want the family there, you all should respect his wishes. He has his reasons for wanting only his church members. It's not a good idea to push him at a time that's obviously causing him stress.

@SW-User yea you’re probably right, but who wouldn’t want none of their family around them at a time like that. Something bad could happen and we wouldn’t even know. Thanks

@Shishi27 Everyone's different. He might be scared and doesn't want anyone to see that, or he might get triggered by some members and needs to stay calm.

You can find out his condition by calling the hospital to see how he managed with the surgery, or call his church and arrange for one of the members to give you an update.

I'd respect his wishes.

@11knaves11 thanks
It is his choice. Ask him how you can help. Maybe visit afterwards? Look after his home or plants? People have choices. Respect those choices.
