The beautiful French language soaks our living room only when it's the French Open Tennis Tournament [I Have Thoughts]

And ocassionally when i have the opportunity to share a French film. Ahhh the French, there is so much to admire there.

The philosophers of the past, the philosophical writers, the arts involving for example painting and cinema. The Lumiere brothers, Georges Melies, and many more.

A place renown for romanticism, that black and white photograph of a couple embracing and kissing, which used to be on my brother's living room wall, my brother who came from my mom and a French guy who cheated on her and subsequently divorced, i have no Frenchness in me sadly. :(

All the more though, despite that, i love the French. On Letterboxd in my all time stats France is the next most seen country of the films i've seen after the United States.

It is a place many from warring countries fled to to seek freedom, i think mostly of artists as i'm limited by what i'm interested in.

We used to have French people living right by us, they made the sweetest smelling bread.

If i have enough energy tonight i shall continue my Agnès Varda retrospective, there's some finer details i may gloss over in my considerations, like i see certain people as French but they're from nearby. What happens i guess when you never travel and hardly talk with other people. A stunted growth like a warped malnourished monster ala Elephant Man in cogitative demeanor.

@SW-User I don't know or remember how old you are but go while you can enjoy it.

@tindrummer I don't expect to be alive much longer, but it would be sweet to see Paris. But it would be too expensive. I'll just savor the films, i think i'd prefer seeing it in the 60's and 70's anyways over present times.

@SW-User I hope you're mistaken about your time left on this earth.
Best wishes.

They've made some amazing films, no doubt. A bit obsessive in tone for me at times, though.

@PhilDeep Obsessive, yeah! Like going into a new dimension, i yearn for example to experience the hermetic visions of Jacques Rivette, how it was described in a commentary the films he made after Celine and Julie, how they got more and more obscure with their occult references.
