May 18 thoughts [I Have Thoughts]

This is the day in 1980 that Joy Division's frontman Ian Curtis committed suicide, after finding no way out of his pain, as i gather they had given to him experimental drugs that made his condition even worse.

About a month and a half ago i started to listen to Joy Division after just hearing superficially about them for years, for some reason i thought they were a black funk metal band.

Charles Grodin died today too, as i just learned in a notification.

Next couple days will be very busy for my immediate family, but i as always will remain largely immobile, trying to continually forget momentarily what the present time is with watching films from other times, however i am making more room for recent stuff, a meagre attempt to make amends with the current.

Last night with the family watched some of The Voice, a talent show, i couldn't help seeing beneath the surface, everyone to me at least wasn't able to hide their ginormous sadness, the host particularly, seemed as if he was sobbing in his dressing room.

The world in general is suffering big time, i think of the middle east and India to name two locales, and everything else, it's a tad overwhelming, may i suggest we don't get us down too much, that we keep the spark alive with humor and stuff like that, according to how we best function as individuals.

Meagre efforts are better than no efforts.. do keep trying..

I think that when you are sad you can tend to feel others share that.. and lots do.. but lots and lots don't feel sad.. so as you say, lets try to keep that spark and humour

@Adaydreambeliever Thank you, .... when this whole era started early in 2020, i experienced ironic euphoria, which i think is subsiding a bit now.

I have never heard Joy Division or heard of Ian Curtis but I just read about him on Wikipedia. Such a sad story. Thanks for posting.

@hunkalove @SW-User their song, “New Dawn Fades” is very haunting to hear after I learned about Ian Curtis’ suicide. You can hear his pain in his voice.
