I Had a Blood Test

I have them quite often. It usually starts off where I walk in, I present my left arm and they do the test. It’s doesnt really hurt when they stick the needle in, it’s more like abs uncomfortable feeling, a bit like having a lollipop stick in your back pocket and sitting on it (but in your arm obviously). Unless you’re afraid of needles or blood then that’s all there is to it usually, although I’m not afraid of needles or blood I almost always either pass out or nearly pass out when I have them. It’s quite embarrassing really. I think that’s something to do with low blood sugars, it usually depends how much they take.

is that why you need frequent blood work ,to check your blood sugar ?

I have a compromised immune system so they have to check my White Blood Cell count, but I think when I lose blood my blood sugar levels drop because they always give me food or sugary drinks afterwards

@randompi I hope diabetes is not more of a risk due to your system.

@Robert I haven’t been diagnosed with it or anything and we don’t have a family history of it, so I’m hoping not
