I Am An Emergency Prepper

I'm certainly not a doomsday prepper, but following some serious weather events, I decided that I should be more prepared. There could always be a time when we're cut off from help or shelter and food, and the government recommends having a minimum of 3 days of supplies for such times.
So, I'm starting a survival kit. I've already got an emergency tent, a 65 litre backpack with a 10 litre daypack, a snakebite kit, general first-aid kit, and some assorted survival goods and gear. I'll get more with each pay day.
If anyone has any ideas on what I should include or thoughts on being prepared, please reply here. It would be a great help.

canned food is realy good. sams club has boxes of six cans of chili and it is basically a meal in a can and has a 2.5 year shelf life. they also have boxes of canned chicken dumpling soup. and boxes of cans of ravioli. they have boxes of granola bars. they are great to eat on the go and dont need refrigeration. you can get solar battery charger to charge phone battery and usb charged rechargeable lights too. another charger that charges aa and c and d rechargeable batteries from sun light to charge batteries for the radio to listen to am and fm. 😺

@trackboy Thanks. I'll look into solar chargers. I have to be careful with food as I'm celiac. But there are some long-life gluten free foods about. I'm also thinking about freeze-drying my own. Great advice, thank you.

@SW-User No problem there. I've always done first-aid, and even many years ago was an army medic. The kit is basic, with just a few things as the need to be able to walk to safety without being loaded down is important. So, I think your advice to learn is good. Thanks. 👍️
