YouTube not working on TCL Roku 40" TV **FIXED**

This was yesterday. I did some reading online and one thing I saw was to unplug the TV for a few minutes, plug back in. So that was pretty much my last resort. When I plugged the TV back in, it seemed to work, but put me back to the Home screen. Tried again and it finally worked and still works today.

Now if you're familiar with the Roku and Google talks failing, you'll know that Roku removed the ability to add the YouTube TV app channel to the Roku TV. Google took and made it so that you can access YouTube TV, within the free YouTube channel.

I'm wondering if Roku will remove YouTube access altogether from their TV's because of the failed talks with Google. I hope not, because it's nice to be able to load up a YouTube video for background noise, or if I don't want to turn the computer on, I can turn on the TV and watch YouTube from there instead.

There is a nice workaround for this, if Roku does remove YouTube access. There used to be a website called SaveFrom. This website allowed you to download YouTube videos without having to install third-party software. The website closed down, I forget why, but, a new website has taken its place.

The Roku TV has a media channel, so if you plug in a USB stick into the TV, you can watch videos that are on the USB stick. The nice thing about that is, there is a video I watch a lot to help fall asleep. If I watch that video on the USB drive and not through YouTube, I'm not using any of my internet for that. Comcast or now Xfinity did some thing where if your internet usage exceeds 100% for the month, they charge you $10 for every gigabyte over your plan.
