I Listen to Alan Watts

"The future is a concept, it doesn't exist. There is no such thing as tomorrow. There never will be, because time is always now. That's one of the things we discover when we stop talking to ourselves and stop thinking. We find there is only present, an eternal now." ~Alan Watts

@CharlieZ Sadly this doesn't seem to be commen knowledge, if you understand this it can change you entiere view of life

@TheSwissGuy The opposite is true: It´s an "a la mode" collection of cliches.
I know (by almost a lifetime) the sources of this "school of thought" from inside and in first person.
I find SOME pearls there (not in Watts but in his sources).
But it´s not my worldview, anyhow.
And I don´t want it to be.
My strong respect for the ones who agree with this do not need to be extended to the contents of their thought.

@CharlieZ The origin of this thought is way older than Alan Watts, I just enjoy Alan Watts translation for the western mind and his way of talking. I think expanding the content of your thoughts is a constant process, you never stop being a student and there are always new things to learn and possibilites to grow.

@TheSwissGuy "

I fully agree with you in this.
Which may mean, for each one of us, the opposite direction to grow to.

"The origin of this thought is way older than Alan Watts"
Of course it is much older.
I know well Zen, Taoist thought, Sufism. Can trace his sources.

"I just enjoy Alan Watts translation for the western mind and his way of talking"
I celebrate that is good for you.
I do not share his assumptions and neither his proposed objectives.

BTW, his "translation" is not a good one.

It makes him say things about the material Universe that have no foundation in reality while pretending they have a scientific basis, which they dont.

And to make assertions related to AI that no one that knows enough about the subject may take seriously.

@CharlieZ thank you for your opinion on Mr. Watts. Do try harder to hide your envy in the future... thank you.
