I Love Horror Movies

Because it took me a year to name my top ten 10 horror movies I am compiling the list!

So, in no particular order other than the order I posted:

1. Hellraiser, 1987
2. The Monster, 2016
3. Train to Busan, 2016
4. Raw, 2016
5. The Blair Witch Project, 1999
6. Mama, 2013
7. Creep, 2014
8. We Are What We Are, 2013
9. The Bird Box, 2018
10. Hereditary, 2018

I did not include The Exorcist on this list because, come on, that's a given.

Honorable mentions to We Have To Talk About Kevin and mother!, which are not horror movies but psychological horror, just disturbing and upsetting as all get out. Also to Six Souls, as a great thriller which has a horrific ending and Julianne Moore (ginger, need I say more).

Ah, Hellraiser. That would probably be my number 1 as well. I saw it when I was a tad younger than the intended audience given that I was barely over 10 years old. I remember having a crush for the main actress too

@JdesDelices lol really? She was delightfully cheesy! But the makeup and the gore, and the long shots, which we don't see in movies any more. Speaking of that - another classic with incredible long shots that make you squirm - The Thing, 1982. Did you like that one?
JdesDelices · 46-50
@SushiRed This is all based on my memory of this movie from all the way back then - I've never watched it again, and I should probably, although I'm worried it will completely ruin my memories of it.
Same thing with The Thing - I watched it back then, and now all I have are very blurry memories and impressions of it, although back then I certainly loved it too.

Ah, yeah. Sometimes those movies from childhood hold up and even improve watching as an adult (for me: Time Bandits). But sometimes, it's just an exercise in destroying sweet childhood memoeries (for me: Labyrinth. How did I think David Bowie was the hottest man on the planet... he looked like Joan Rivers as styled by Cindy Lauper).

Your number 1 used to be mine (have the signed poster :) ). 3 is a pleasant surprise inclusion. 10 Is great...went to see the follow-up Midsommar today...not sure if it was disturbing, beautiful, or both!
SushiRed · 51-55, F
@romper69 oh I hadn't heard of Midsommar yet, I will have to see that!
black4white · 56-60, M
I have only seen 1...5..and 9 and pretty much avoid most horror because my mind plays tricks on me...
black4white · 56-60, M
@SushiRed there lies the problem...EXACTLY !!!! Will you comfort me in that scenario? 💕
SushiRed · 51-55, F
Man, I probably would, but if I were awake enough I would be sorely tempted to instead say, "I don't see anyth- ... wait ..." and then throw myself off the bed screaming, pretending to be drug away ...
black4white · 56-60, M
@SushiRed LMAO 😂❤️
OzDiver · 61-69, M
Awesome list! Thanks for sharing, and I will have to watch the five on there that I haven't seen yet!! 🙂
OzDiver · 61-69, M
@SushiRed Wow!!! That was an AWESOME guess... It's 1, 3, 5, 10 and The Exorcist. I'll be starting on the others on your list as soon as I can. 😀
SushiRed · 51-55, F
Wow ... I am REALLY good! 😄
OzDiver · 61-69, M
@SushiRed You sure are! 😉😀
TommyBoy · 31-35, M
Since you like The Blair Witch...I suggest Grave Encounters and As Above So Below.
SushiRed · 51-55, F
@TommyBoy I haven't seen Grave Encounters, but I did see As Above So Below - it was really good!
TommyBoy · 31-35, M
@SushiRed Shock horrors are awesome! Definitely check out Grave Encounters :) It's another found footage shock horror in an insane asylum.
SushiRed · 51-55, F
I will!
Quizzical · 46-50, M
Julianne Moore is always good for a peek of firebush too 😏
