I just realized my birth was closer to the moon landing than it is to today.

2021-1991 - 30 years
1991-1969 - 22 years

I honestly don't know what to do with this information, other than acknowledge that my perception of time is majorly flawed.

That is all.

That's because we don't have a good feel of time, especially for time that we didn't live through.

Sometimes my parents bring up life before you air conditioning and indoor plumbing... and I usually respond with the time of dinosaurs.

Though, I don't think my next door neighbors have air conditioning yet. But this area does have a pretty great cross breeze if you're willing to open front and back windows.

@Viper I remember my dad telling stories about life before air conditioning, and how grandfather refused to get it until he experienced it at someone else's house. Next day he was installing one.

I still remember my family only having a black-and-white TV for the first few years. That was crazy to think about.

@FaeLuna I think my grandfather was like that, but with running water in the house.

Once he realized it was possible and east to get, next day, in the house.

@Viper That seems to be the story. They don't want anything to do with the new-fangled technology until they try out themselves and see how nice it is.

I was born in 1991 as well. We millennials are getting old 😳
SW-User
@FaeLuna “Millennial” was synonymous with “young” for so long it seems that way lol
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@SW-User And yet there are some people out there that still treat us like children. It's getting kinda old, honestly, just like me!
SW-User
@FaeLuna Exactly. I’m bald and have a child now. When will people stop acting like millennials are still teenagers? lol

And I realized the amount of years I've been in a relationship are almost more than the years I spend being single
SW-User
You should've realized that 7 years ago 😅

It's especially hard to perceive things that happened before you existed ~ @FaeLuna
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@SW-User Definitely! Or even things that were happening at the same time as your first few months. Like, I still can't believe the Soviet Union was around at the same time I was. Granted, it was like 8 months, but still...
SW-User
@FaeLuna As for me I was 1 when Germany reunified 😅 but who cares ~
SW-User
Be happy, my birth was closer to the start of WW1 than today 😖
