I Want To Share My Blessing For The Day
Happened just two hours ago...
I had been driven to Amman, Jordan from the hospital I work at so I could take a direct flight to Prague to be with my Czech goddess Nika two days later. However when I went to get new glasses the optician discovered problem with my eyes that could if untreated cause blindness so as I had to stay in Jordan for the first half of the treatment and then return in August for the second half this effectively destroyed my vacation plans.
I was crushed. I had not see Nika since August last year...and this our fourth sepeartion has been the worst. I so dreaded telling her yet when I finally did she was remarkably sang-froid about it and I was a bit hurt.
That was four days ago. While I was in my depression trying to figure out why she was so blaise about our not being together I get a call in my room which was in total darkness cause of the drops I now must medicate my eyes with when I got a call. It was Nika telling me SHE WOULD BE IN AMMAN TOMORROW AFTERNOON AND WOULD I "MIND" PICKING HER UP AND HAVING HER STAY WITH ME IN MY HOTEL UNTIL I RETURNED TO SAUDI NEXT WEEK!
I was so overjoyed that when I put down the phone I twirled around and stumled and fell on the floor but got up crying with happpiness!
Then I remebered the ONLY good thing Islam has ever taught me in my over two years in this part of the world. God never decides anything for you that is meant to bring you harm...and if you truly believe and trust in Him, you will see that the things you think are bad are in fact not and if we truly believe in Him only lead to something else ... like my father telling me not to eat too much ice cream before dinner. Did I concider that unreasonable? To my child's mind of five...yes, absolutely.
The analogy is exact. We are like children compared to the mind of God. We must trust and believe.
So...now instead of having to face another 8 months or so of loneliness I am running around getting ready to greet my Czech goddess at Amman airport TOMORROW at 12:25 pm!
Miraculous and wonderful are the ways of God if you will only be patient and look.
