I Sometimes Feel Trapped By Life

Two years have passed since I first came into the virtual world. I think about the disdain I used to have for people who spend their time online and cannot help but feel a little ashamed for thinking that way. I came into this virtual world at a point in my life when my real world crumbled around me. The kindness of complete strangers helped me get better. As tears fell on my ipad typing out stories and sharing our lives, my days passed. The hurt healed slowly but surely. With the closing of EP, many of those first friends are no longer active on this site. Today, I remember those early August days and such a bittersweet feeling comes over me. I give thanks for my friends who are still here and I just want to tell them they are cherished.

I feel quite sceptical about this site and social forums in general these days. I see that what you are more likely to find there is cynicism, and hatred, and that trying to be kind here is throwing pearls to the swine.
Nevertheless, you can find a treasure even in the filthiest cesspool, and I am thankful every day for you being there on EP, and me having the chance of meeting the person who is giving me the best days of my life.

I want to tell that you are cherished anonymously. I haven't logged in here for a while and today I did and saw your comments. Thank you novembermoon. Yes it is the virtual world that has given me a space to write anonymously too. The real world may not be able to accept our real thoughts.

Me too. When I feel like that I normally take my dog for a long walk and sometimes try to look at the world through her eyes. Love, food sleep walk.. Simplicity is sometimes a wonderful thing.

I was also on EP and had similar experience. One lady and I got on so well and we traveled on a journey together where she went from being suicidal to meeting a great guy and marrying him. I made some great friends,, and the pervs were fun too.. :0) x

Yes. It is indeed an awesome journey. It was just keeping at it one day at a time, just walking, thinking, talking with people who are broken in some ways...and you realise that you are not alone, that things happen to people too, that we are all one, no matter where we come from, what beliefs we hold, that love and kindness are things that keep us human and give us strength for the day.

Thanks for replying! I am in a reflective mood on a Saturday morning and feel a little sad that friends come and go, just like many temporal things in this world.

I understand, I get into those moods sometimes too.

Only the possibility to meet people like you makes online communication worthy.
