I Love the Grateful Dead

I am definitely a Deadhead. I saw the Grateful Dead whenever I could between 1987 and 1993. I've seen about a 100 shows. And maybe 50 Jerry Garcia Band shows. I followed them around on tour pretty hardcore for a couple of years, hung out in parking lots, and sold everything from tie-dyes to smoothies to window stickers to make ends meet. My experience peaked around 1989 when they played Hampton, VA as The Warlocks, breaking out Help On The Way and Dark Star for the first time in I don't know how many years. Brent's death in 1990 hit me hard, and although I kept touring, it was never the same. I left the scene in '92/'93. I had my reasons. But I've never quit listening to the band. When I finally went online in 2005, I was ecstatic to find pretty much all the concerts they've ever played at the website Internet Archive and proceeded to download a ton of shows for my listening pleasure. Now I watch 30 year old shows on YouTube and enjoy the music just as much as if I was in my 20s again.
