I Have Triggers
Yesterday we went and cut several loads of wood, wore both of us out! Cutting wood is one thing but carry it back to load it on the Massimo is another thing. Climbing up the side of a mountain, carrying a load of wood in your arms... 😩 I try to park as close as I can to the spot where we are cutting but....
Anyways, on our last load driving home I smelled smoke. I stopped and smelled around... Well hell! I did not put the emergency brake down all the way. I kicked my butt, called myself stupid...blah blah blah for not paying attention close enough. Things got hot, don't ya know!
So I took off and I drove about another 100 ft, I still smell smoke! and I stopped again, turned off the Massimo and I saw the smoke!!!!! It was the ATV smoking!!!! We both jumped out, hit the latch to drop our load and saw the fire!!! Dried leaves were on fire due to my … tiredness... not stupid 😔
We had a couple of bottles of water and put the fire out.
I collapsed in shaking tears, kept saying I'm sorry...over and over again. I lost it. I could of caught the woods on fire!!! Then my mind went back to years ago. You see... a trigger accorded from my housefire. Memories...so bad.
My loving man sat beside me and let me release this emotion of terror. It took me over a hour to regain my … mind. My dog wouldn't stop licking me, which brought me out of my zone.
