WW84 was pretty...

The movie was okay, it felt kinda long, it seemed to drag a bit. My niece and nephew weren't THAT interested in it. It had interesting parts, but oddly it felt like some of the graphics were, sub par? Also the action scenes were...eh at most. I liked the message of the movie, and Patty Jenkins take on the 80s, but, idk it was making great strides, but maybe misstepped somewhere...but, the cast was great, I have a man crush on Pedro Pascal, Gal Gadot, beautiful, strong and classy, Kristine Wigg...Ah, kinda awkward the line she had to straddle and Chris Pine was there, doing his Kirk/Captain America ish thing. Good movie. Would re watch.

Most major comic book movies don't understand CGI so they end up looking like shit. The DCEU is even worse than the MCU with that 🤣

@GermanAf Well, the first Wonder Woman seemed to be better about the CGI. It's hard for me to think the success led to less CGI, but if @AnnaOof is correct then they did that intentionally. Some CGI does look like shit, but progressively its getting better. This just seemed an odd step backward.

@AnthroKenji Nah, superhero movies just pretend that CGI is the be all and all of effectswork.
CGI is meant to supplement actual practical effects, or for scenes with a lot of shit going on that doesn't require high detail (think Lord of the Rings). But DC specifically just buries all the physical and practical stuff under a shitload of subpar CGI because it's easier to hide shitty camerawork and/or acting.

Marvel did it pretty well with the first Iron Man but ever since the first Avengers movie they been dropping the ball as well.

@GermanAf Mmm I think an argument can be made in the counter, but I mean don't disagree with you either.

@AnthroKenji Look at movies like Joker, Tenet, Dunkirk or Ex Machina. All of them use a lot of CGI, but you can't tell it's there because they don't rely on it.

@GermanAf Yeah like I said I don't disagree with you.
