Speaking of stolen, someone recently noted that we may not have had a legitimate Republican president since Eisenhower.
We know Nixon secretly offered a deal to the North Vietnamese if they would postpone agreeing to a peace deal with LBJ. We know Reagan's people went to the Iranians and cut a deal where Iran would keep its American hostages until after the 1980 election was completed. This in turn begat HW Bush. There is no universe in which HW Bush becomes president on his own hook.
W. Bush stole the 2000 election through things such as having Katherine Harris throw 70,000 black voters off the rolls in Florida three weeks before the election, in addition of course to all the other thievery we know of, not least of which was the SC handing Bush the presidency.
GOP vote suppression is now a cottage industry. Greg Palast estimates 1.1 million likely Democratic voters could not vote in 2016. It's a commonplace in common law, which i think operates here, that someone committing fraud must not be permitted to benefit from that fraud, even in cases where the effect of the fraud is not entirely clear--they should not get the benefit of the doubt, in short.
The leaves us going back to Eisenhower to get a 'clean' Republican president.
