You can be yourself here and express yourself as you need to. That seems to be a common theme here on this site, from what I have noticed anyways, and it would seem like there is an audience here who would be keen to hear from you as a person, and not only what memes you happen to dig.
I think this place differs slightly in it's approach to how it treats the people who use this platform. Instead of being seen as a product, it allows more an atmosphere of the meeting of minds, and discussions for no other reasons than to bounce thoughts and ideas off each other, so to speak.
